Transportation guide

1. From Tokyo or Nagoya

Take the JR train from Tokyo or Nagoya Station to Matsumoto. (An express
train takes about 3 hours.)
From Matsumoto, take a bus to Kamikochi Bus Terminal. From there, it’s about a 10-minute walk to Nishi-ito-ya Mountain Lodge.

2. From Nagoya or Osaka

Take JR train from Nagoya or Osaka to Takayama.
From Takayama, take a bus to Kamikochi and get off at Kamikochi Bus Terminal.

3. Direct Bus Service to Kamikochi

There are a few direct buses to Kamikochi from Tokyo (Shinjuku), Osaka, Kyoto, and Nagano.
